On June 3, 2011, construction of the City Hall intended for the public administration staff began.
The neo-Classical-style building was meant to be completed in four years but is still under construction. The facility is due to contain the office of the city mayor, the archives of the City of Skopje, the meeting room of the Council, as well as other facilities for the city administration. The City Hall is one of the few buildings of the “Skopje 2014” project that were part of the VMRO DPMNE party programme. It was announced that it would cost 900 million denars, or 1.4 million euros, but the building contract alone with the Beton construction company mentions more than 16 million euros.
