The “Lazar Pop-Trajkov” Palace is a government administrative building built on a location that was once a park, across the street from the Bristol Hotel.

The residents of neighbouring buildings, supported by non-governmental organisations and the opposition party strongly resisted the plans to build this building because it included the cutting down of the trees and the view from their homes would be blocked.

Two years after protests were quashed and the project commenced, the building remains under constructions. Government reports stated that delay is mainly due to unforeseen problems with underground water that appeared whilst the foundations were being dug.
