The new building of the Criminal Court has been under construction since 2010, although it was announced that it would be complete within 18 months.
The building, funded by a World Bank loan in addition to funds from the budget of the Republic of Macedonia, was initially projected to cost around 8.3 million euros. The project has been cited as one example of the practice of increasing costs during construction. The Basic Contract with Granit alone contains 21 annexes and claims. Due to this reason, the Public Procurement Council did not approve the additional contract that the Ministry of Justice wanted to sign with Granit without an e-bid.
